June marked by internationality for the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo
The University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo celebrated a June marked by internationality with numerous events that involved students and academics from all over the world, once again confirming its global vocation and its mission to promote a holistic and interdisciplinary vision of the food system.

In June, the university hosted groups from prestigious universities, including the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC, CUNY) in New York and Chapman University in California.
The University of Pollenzo offered participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the most current issues related to food, ranging from sustainability and the circular economy to health and food culture. Through seminars led by experts and practical activities, such as culinary workshops, tastings, and visits to local producers, students were able to connect with the Italian gastronomic tradition, exploring it from scientific, cultural, and social perspectives.

A significant moment of sharing was the UNISG Scholarship Ceremony, which celebrated the support of companies, foundations, and individuals in promoting access to education. Since 2004, the University supported 464 students from 67 countries, making access to gastronomic education a strategic and value-based priority. The 2024-2025 academic year will see as many as 71 scholarship recipients from countries such as Brazil, Chile, Japan, Nigeria, the United States, Germany, France, and many others, receiving concrete support for their educational journey.
Not only education, but also international academic exchange.
On Wednesday, June 25, the University of Pollenzo welcomed a delegation from Harvard University, participating in the Summer School “Beauty, Community and Innovation.” The Harvard students and professors had the opportunity to engage with topics related to taste as an aesthetic and social experience, delving into subjects such as food policy, the neuroscience of consumption, and collective responsibility in food. The day represented a significant opportunity to consolidate the University’s network of international collaborations, thereby strengthening its role as a global reference point in the field of gastronomic sciences.

“Our goal is to educate students to a deep and critical understanding of food as a global and local phenomenon, exploring the intrinsic link between culture, science, and sustainability,” said the Rector of UNISG, Nicola Perullo. “Pollenzo is a crossroads of experiences and visions from every corner of the world, and we are proud to see how our students and international partners continue to grow together.”
The University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo continues its mission to train professionals capable of interpreting and addressing global food-related challenges, with an approach that encompasses different disciplines and cultures, thereby creating an international community that collaborates for the future of gastronomy.
