The first edition of the Master in Local Food Policy, organized in collaboration with CIHEAM Bari, comes to an end.
The Master’s programme, held in English, specializes in cultivating expertise in local food systems and policies.
On Friday, 23 January, nine internazional students will complete their Master’s programme, with an online graduation ceremony.
Some of them will defend their thesis, while others have presented a final report.
Below are their names and their final projects, all supervised by prof. Donatella Saccone.

Oumaima Chouchene, from Nabeul (Tunisia), presents her theses entitled: “How do Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs) Contribute to Food Security: Insights from the GFCM of FAO Experience”.

Safaa M.M. Ghaliz from Jericho (Palestine),  presents her theses entitled: “Policy frameworks of School Food Environment in the West Bank: Mapping structures, benchmarking against FAO standards and exploring opportunities for improvement”.

Wissem Jaouadi, from Gabes (Tunisia), presents his report entitled: “Challenges and Opportunities in Sustainable Cocoa Production in Ghana”.

Megan Flannery Maclean from Boston (United States), presents her report entitled: “Co-designing Local Food Policy Through Facilitation in a Living Lab Setting”.

Ida Kirkegaard Mikkelsen from Copenhagen (Denmark), presents her theses entitled: “Continuing the legacy - renewing Copenhagen Municipalities Food strategy beyond 2025”.

Khalif Odhiambo Ochieng from Kisumu (Kenya), presents his report entitled: “Enhancing Rural Economy through Sustainable Livestock Value Chain; A case study of Dairy Goats Farming in Piedmont, Italy”.

Kazuha Okuda from Tokyo (Japan), presents her report entitled: “Potential of Cooperatives As Active Agents of Generational Renewal in The Agricultural Sector: Cases from Italy and Japan”.

Nyah Marie  Sprague Gueye from Paradise, California (United States), presents her report entitled: “How Agroecology Participates in the Local Food Systems of the City of Dakar”.

Elizabeth Jillian Dozois Whyte from Ottawa (Canada), presents her report entitled: “Governance approaches to deepen impact of Local Food Councils”.
