The Trattoria Masuelli San Marco has been a notable presence on the Milanese gastronomic scene for almost a century now. The Masuelli family, originally from Piedmont, opened the restaurant in 1921. From the start, the menu blended Milanese and Piedmontese traditions, and this unique identity has been continued by successive generations.

The ambiance of the Trattoria Masuelli also reflects the family’s style and personality, with original décor from the 1920s and ‘30s and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

These days the kitchen is headed by Max Masuelli, working alongside Pino and Tina. His menus speak a mix of Lombard and Piedmontese, with a particular focus on Slow Food Presidia ingredients and seasonality.

At Pollenzo’s Academic Tables, on May 9 and 10, the chef will be preparing two menus that express his cooking.

On Tuesday May 9 the menu will start with a thick pasta-and-bean stew, followed by Cuneo rabbit, tuna style, and an asparagus salad, then finishing with saffron panna cotta with blackberry coulis and crunchy raspberries.

On the second day, the menu will start with a classic Milanese-style risotto with saffron stigmas, followed by Verdea-style stewed veal cheek with braised cabbage and finishing with a Lodi-style mascarpone cream.
