BIOGRAPHY

Research collaborator at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in the Agroecology group.

Graduated in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at the University of Turin.

From 2002 to 2012 she worked as researcher at the Reference Center for Organic Agriculture - CRAB (in Turin) on projects related to the organic defense of crops, the use of agroecological practices (cover crops, undersowing, green manures, crop rotations, intercropping), the phenotypic and agronomic characterization of local germplasm of cereals and vegetables, the animation of local networks of farmers.

From 2013 to 2020 she collaborated with AIAB in Piedmont in the implementation of projects concerning in particular the recovery, the characterization and in-situ and ex-situ conservation of local germplasm of cereals also through participatory methods with local communities.

Since 2020 she works in the agroecology research group of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo carrying out research activities in the field of agroecology.

 

SPECIFIC RESEARCH TOPICS

  • Agroecological practices for improving soil fertility (cover crops, rotations, green manures, …) and for crop protection (agroecological service crops)
  • Conservation and increase of biodiversity: local varieties, underutilized crops, evolutionary improvement of varieties, participatory breeding
  • Participatory research carried out with local communities
