Una manciata di grano

The cultivation of local varieties in marginal areas of the territory must be supported by research activities that provide information on the phenotypic and agronomic characteristics of local genetic resources.

During the 24 months of the project, the partnership will carry out activities such as: phenotypic and agronomic characterization of 4 local varieties of soft wheat through periodic surveys on parcels built ex situ in Piedmont; scientific support in carrying out field observations and for the conservation improvement of the plots built in situ in Liguria; realization of moments of participatory selection of the varieties.

The expected results are:

  • Recovery, conservation improvement and reproduction of varieties;
  • Morphological and agronomic characterization;
  • Creation of a descriptive card of the varieties.
