The Chocolate War is a documentary about child slavery in the chocolate industry, released in 2022 by director and journalist Miki Mistrati. The film tells the story of human rights lawyer Terry Collingsworth, who is fighting to convict Nestlé and Cargill of systematically exploiting children working in cocoa production in the Ivory Coast. The Chocolate War invites us to reflect on the role we as consumers play in such dynamics, whether consciously or not. The screening will be preceded by a brief presentation and followed by a conversation with Miki Mistrati and Terry Collingsworth, who will connect remotely from the US.
