The University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo will host the international conference Food and Memory: Practices, Narratives, and Afterlives of the Past on September 17–18, 2026, organized by Prof. Gabriele Proglio.

The conference will explore the intersections between food, memory, and historical trauma through interdisciplinary perspectives combining food studies, oral history, and memory studies. Keynote speakers include Marianne Hirsch and Alessandro Portelli. The call for papers welcomes contributions on migration, sensory memory, food practices, colonialism, gender, and cultural transmission processes
