Walk N’Eat by UNISG students

Follow us on a journey about art, tradition and Piedmonte’s flavors. This walk combines the charming history of the Torino Sabauda with unique taste of its gastronomic products. Don’t miss the historic literary cafes and the numerous piole (traditional Turin osterias) that characterize Turin. Let yourselves be amazed with us by the sweetest secrets of this place that’s full of mysteries.

Bike N’ Eat by UNISG students

Bike n’ Eat is a gastronomic tour on two wheels, born from an initiative of UNISG students, originally inspired by the organization Slow Roll of Detroit and supported by The Bike Republic of Torino. The tour will allow you to discover the most famous and historic places and the most hidden ones of Turin. Explore the suburb of the city of Terra Madre and learn how the communities have beautified the districts, turning abandoned spaces into agricultural areas, apicultural areas, and into art murals.
Tasting; meeting with the producers; enogastronomic anecdotes of the city; visits to the symbolic places of Turin’s gastronomy tradition, and other alternative projects not well known will be some of the many activities you’ll have the occasion to participate in! From the least known buildings to the most popular sights and points of interest, and from the murals to the communities’ projects, you don’t want to miss this exciting and educational event!

h 10:00 – 12:00, Somebody is killing the best cooks of Turin… – SOLD OUT!
Cycloitinerary inspires at Luca’s Iaccarino recent book «Somebody is killing the best cooks of Turin». The romance is a sort of enogastronomic crime novel that takes place in the piedmontese main city, in which the main character is an alterego of the author (a journalist with the passion for the “piole” ) who is involved in the investigations of the crimes committed in the restaurants of the city. The ride will stop in some of the places mentioned in the book, telling stories bonded to the story of Iaccarino , and of the rich story and culture of piedmontese enogastronomy: we will visit Carignano Square and we will enter in to the historical Cambio’s restaurant. Then, we will go in to the tiny streets of the city center, in order to arrive in Maria Teresa’s square where will stop at Magazzino 52, and then in Castello’s square at Mulassano’s Caffè. Finally we will go at Caffè Elena where we will conclude the visit with a small aperitivo with red wine and typical piedmontese products. Tastings at: CAFFÈ ELENA

Delicious tour in to the storic downtown, discovering the indissoluble bond between Turin and the “god’s food” that exists since 1500. Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia took from the South America the chocolate’s beans. The tour allows to know the places, the stories and the legends connected to the turineses producta that have as base the cocoa. The most known are: hot chocolate from bicerin,”diablotin”, gianduiotti, the curious story of the cri-cri that we are going to taste in the contemporary local producers:Guido Castagna e A.Giordano and finally the products of the Gertosio’s pastry shop. Tour at the aperitivo torinese time in order to discover the story of the aromatized wine that has put Turin famous in all over the world. The itinerary, headed by a touristic guide with the support of the students from the Use of Gastronomic Sciences, is a Tour that involves the center and the neighborhood of San Salvario and allow the discovering the origins of the Vermouth, the story of Antonio Benedetto Carpano and also stories of other producers,like Martini, Cinzano e Cora , the traditions of drinking Vermouth, and the use of this product nowadays. During the cycling we will try Vermouth Cocchi in the Bar Barolino Cocchi – a small jewel hidden in the streets of Quadrilatero Romano. Then we will move to San Salvario and after a little break at Panificio Ficini, we will try Vermouth Anselmo, an historical turinese product known for his cocktails at bar Affini. A morning cycling ,in the historical centre of Turin and in Cit Turin and San Donato zone in order to discover the enogastronomical products of the city . Tour dedicated to two alcoholic products in order to discover BorgoRossini-Aurora e Vanchiglia, two of the neighborhoods most in transformation in the city. The first part of the cycling is between via Bologna and corso Novara – carachterised from a fascinating mix of houses and requalified mix di palazzine residenziali ottocentesche, factories. We will stop at Birrificio Torino, Pioneer of the artesanal beer in Turin. Then we will go to Vanchiglia, a neighborhood at center or the “movida of the city, her we will stop at Antica Distilleria Quaglia where we will try Vermouth. Do you want to spend an evening different than usual? Then dust off your cap and get your magnifying glass and raincoat, because you will be called to interpret Sherlock Holmes! An atrocious crime has been committed and only you can find out who did it!
During the mystery dinner, you can test your investigative skills: you will have the opportunity to study the clues, directly interrogate the suspects, and have the culprit arrested—all this while enjoying delicious dishes!
It will be a team game with the members at your table, and your team could win the title of best restaurant investigators!
