BIOGRAPHY
Elena is research fellow in International Law at the University of Gastronomic Sciences since 2021. Her research interests focus on the role of human rights in business activities, with particular attention to responsibility and sustainability in global value chains. She is the author of the monograph La tutela dei diritti umani nelle catene globali del valore (Giappichelli, 2024).
After graduating in Law in 2012, she obtained a PhD in Law and Institutions in 2018 at the University of Turin and she is a qualified lawyer of the Turin bar since 2015. She is a business and human rights consultant for the ESG Legal Impact team of the law firm RPLT Legalitax.
She has teaching experience in international law, international protection of human rights and European Union law and has gained specific expertise in the management of alternative and experiential teaching projects, having supervised for several years students of the University of Turin attending international moot courts and the Migration Agribusiness and Human Rights legal clinic on the labour exploitation of seasonal migrants in agribusiness.
Before collaborating with the University of Pollenzo, she was research fellow at the Institute of International Legal Studies of the National Research Council, carrying out support activities for the Italian National Contact Point on the implementation of the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises and research fellow at the University of Turin, dealing with the obligations of private actors to prevent risk arising from events chemical, biological and radio-nuclear systems.
She attended numerous conferences as a speaker and she is the author of several publications on international law, human rights and European Union law in specialized law journals.
