BIOGRAPHY

Elena is post-doc research fellow at UniSG with a research project on international protection of human rights and food production – “caporalato” and food sovereignty.

Elena holds a Master Degree in Law (2012) and a Ph.D in Law and Institutions (2018) and she is a lawyer of the Turin bar.

Previously, Elena was research fellow at the Institute for International Legal Studies of the Italian National Research Council, working in support of the Italian National Contact Point on the implementation of the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises and research fellow at University of Turin, Department of Law, with a research project on the obligations of private actors in case of CBRN events.

She has gained experience in teaching International Law, International Human Rights Law and EU Law and has a specific competence in managing clinical programs: she has been supervisor of the legal clinic on Human rights and migration law of the University of Turin, in particular of the clinical program on access to work and social protection of migrants on exploitation of seasonal workers in agriculture.

She has been speakers in conferences and seminars and authored publications in scientific reviews on international law, human rights law and EU law.

Her main research interest is business and human rights, with specific focus on the accountability and sustainability of supply chains.
