S.A.M.B.A – Salute, Attività Motoria e Benessere in Accademia

This year, UNISG is a project partner of SAMBA, standing for “Health, motor activity, and wellbeing in academia.”
What is this project?
The project aims to promote psychological and physical wellbeing and counteract the phenomena of psychological and emotional distress of the student population. Through the strengthening and creation of new services aimed at students of the project partner universities, the project intends to create learning environments and organizational cultures that promote health, wellbeing, and sustainability.
This is realized through the implementation, testing, and transfer of approaches through various initiatives, including:
- Individual psychological support
- Psychological support, anxiety management and emotional regulation
- Support for students with study difficulties and special educational needs
- Countering addiction and health-damaging behaviors
- Art, food, awareness, and wellness workshops and laboratories
- Motor and sports activities
How can students get involved?
All activities are free of charge and open to students of any of the following participating partner universities of this project:
- Università degli Studi di Torino (leading partner)
- Politecnico di Torino
- Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche
- Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino
- Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” di Torino
- Istituto Musicale Pareggiato della Valle d’Aosta
To participate in activities, students must register through the project website, samba.unito.it, and browse through the catalog of offerings. Encounter types, locations, and durations vary - students can participate in one-off events or a series of activities depending on their interests and needs.
