On Thursday, the 16th of September, the new rector Bartolomeo Biolatti and Carlo Petrini will welcome the new students.

Pollenzo confirms its international vocation: New students from 12 different countries.

Eighty-two new freshmen from the three-year degree course in Gastronomic Sciences and Cultures and 31 from the Magistrale degree course in Food Innovation & Management arrive in Pollenzo this week.

The students of the two courses represent a total of 12 nations: Italy, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, the United States, Switzerland, Uganda.

After this year and a half of activity segmented between closures and distance learning, the presence of a varied group of international students is a really good sign of continuity of Pollenzo’s international vocation. Therefore, the university’s effort and commitment in guaranteeing the experiential model of encounter with and direct knowledge of the world of food has been rewarded.

The beginning of this academic year is full of anticipation and desire to resume university life in Pollenzo in the usual way. The educational activities will be carried out in presence, in compliance with the prevention and contrast regulations of the Covid-19 contagion currently in force.

On Thursday, the 16th of September, it begins with the welcome day speech by the new Rector prof Bartolomeo Biolatti and UNISG president Carlo Petrini, followed by the presentation of the Cheese 2021 program by Slow Food representatives.

From the 17th to the 20th of September, students will, thus, be able to immerse themselves in the Cheese experience and get to know the city of Bra on the occasion of the main international event dedicated to cheese and the world of milk. In particular, UNISG will be present with a large stand in Piazza Spreitenbach. Students, alumni, and teachers will showcase the fruit of research, studies, academic and professional experiences that constitute the distinctive character of the Pollenzo community.

On Tuesday, the 21st and Wednesday, the 22nd of September, there will be a two-day introduction to the university life of Pollenzo by the administrative and academic staff of the university: the presentation of the courses by the coordinating professors, therefore of the didactic and research projects, of the student services and student associations and everything related to life between Pollenzo and Bra.

Classroom lessons for the freshmen start on the 23rd of September for the master’s course and the 27th of September for the three-year course.

Welcome to Pollenzo!
