MangiaMaggiora Food Festival
Venerdì 12 e sabato 13 giugno, nella splendida cornice del borgo di Maggiora, in provincia di Novara, si tiene la prima edizione di MangiaMaggiora Food Festival, lo street food festival dedicato alla scoperta del cibo e del vino di qualità tipici del territori, evento che coinvolgerà i numerosi appassionati di motocross giunti al Maggiora Park in occasione dell’MXGP of Italy 2015.
I visitatori, grazie ai numerosi punti ristoro e alle postazioni mobili tipiche dello street food dislocati nelle vie e piazze del paese, potranno gustare piatti tipici piemontesi preparati al momento, abbinandoli a una selezione di vino Boca Doc. Non mancheranno realtà gastronomiche di altre regioni italiane: Liguria, Toscana e Sicilia.
MangiaMaggiora è organizzato grazie al patrocinio e all’attiva partecipazione del Comune di Maggiora, e ha come partner progettuale l’Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo (UNISG), oltre al supporto di Slow Food Piemonte. L’UNISG ha infatti fornito i propri saperi e le competenze legate alla conoscenza e selezione di prodotti di qualità e del territorio.
La manifestazione è un progetto pensato e realizzato da Schava srl, società organizzatrice della tappa italiana del mondiale motocross e socio sostenitore dell’Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo.
MangiaMaggiora Food Festival si svolge in concomitanza con l’MXGP of Italy, in programma nello stesso weekend nell’adiacente circuito del Maggiora Park, e coinvolge diversi produttori locali di carne, formaggi e vino. La manifestazione avrà una parte degustativa e una parte di mercato dove si potranno acquistare i prodotti tipici.
Per l’occasione Slow Food Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta darà vita a percorsi di educazione del gusto all’interno di un cortile del borgo, con proposte d’intrattenimento gastronomico sia per bambini che per adulti.

On Friday June 12 and Saturday June 13, the MangiaMaggiora Food Festival will be held for the first time in the splendid setting of the village of Maggiora, in the province of Novara. This street food festival, a showcase of the high-quality food and wine typical of the area, is sure to attract many of the motocross fans who will flocking to Maggiora Park for the MXGP of Italy 2015.
Visitors will be able to enjoy freshly cooked typical Piedmontese fare with a selection of Boca DOC wine at stalls and vans in the streets and piazzas of the village, and specialties from other Italian regions—Liguria, Tuscany and Sicily—will also be up for tasting.
MangiaMaggiora is organized with the patronage and active participation of the Maggiora municipal authorities, in partnership with the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo (UNISG) and with the support of Slow Food Piedmont. More specifically, UNISG has provided consultancy and knowhow for the sourcing and selection of high-quality local food products.
The event has been devised and produced by Schava srl, the company that has organized the Italian stage of the Motocross World Championship and a strategic partner of the University of Gastronomic Sciences.
MangiaMaggiora Food Festival is being held in conjunction with the MXGP of Italy, which will be taking place in the course of the same weekend on the circuit of the adjacent Maggiora Park. It will involve a number of local meat, cheese and wine producers, and will also feature a market where typical produce will be on sale.
For the occasion, Slow Food Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta will organize taste education courses in one of the village courtyards, where gastronomic fun will be in store for all, children and adults alike.
