Description<\/h5>\n

Green Learning Network (GLN) will address the current gap between the educational approaches in the Agriculture, Biodiversity and Rural Affairs (ABR) fields and the everyday practices of farmers and agricultural professionals. The project is dedicated to creating a network of educators, agriculturalists, institutions, learners and user communities in Lifelong Learning. GLN will be a focal point for those involved with all aspects of ABR to access, contribute and use rich learning resources drawn from the experiences and insights of farmers, rural professionals and experts in the ABR field.<\/p>\n

Specific objectives:<\/p>\n

Interdisciplinary Integrated Learning\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will deliver an infrastructure to connect learners, educators, experts and practitioners from across the ABR field.<\/p>\n

Innovative Virtual Collaboration\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will provide a mechanism which allows experts and users to share ideas and exchange insights focused on examples derived from real agricultural problems. These case studies, modelled by end-users through IBSE and moderated by experts, will be used to connect user communities in a process of solution generation.<\/p>\n

Practical Business Instruction for Farmers\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will leverage the expertise and innovation of the virtual collaboration, to provide farmers participating in the network with practical solutions to their problems. This engages with rural communities across Europe, providing tangible benefits to local business and to lifelong learning in agriculture.<\/p>\n

Educational Scenario Generation\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will use the virtual collaborations to create appropriate and productive educational scenarios. Educators can create a store of relevant learning scenarios to meet the needs to students across all levels and European contexts.<\/p>\n

Pedagogical Best Practice Repository\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will exploit its unique position as a network to champion the creation of a repository of best practice in ABR education. By creating this repository, GLN will also be able to position itself as a central hub for access to green learning repositories throughout Europe.<\/p>\n

Green ePortfolio Networking\u00a0\u2013\u00a0GLN\u00a0will allow individuals and working groups to establish and develop portfolios of their activities and interests in ABR. By creating a social network around specific research interests, GLN will forge new, high-quality sub-networks around specific disciplines, connecting user communities and sharing expertise and educational data.<\/p>\n
