{"id":13422,"date":"2014-03-18T15:53:28","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T14:53:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/orto-produttivo-sg-2\/"},"modified":"2015-06-17T15:00:20","modified_gmt":"2015-06-17T13:00:20","slug":"orto-produttivo-sg","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/en\/campus\/didactic-garden\/orto-produttivo-sg\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gastronomic Society's Fruit and Vegetable Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The vegetable garden at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Unisg.SocietaGastronomica\" target=\"_blank\">Gastronomic Society<\/a> has a surface area of about 500 square meters.\u00a0The Gastronomic Society\u2019s horticulture group is a community of people (many of whom are students at UNISG, especially in the Masters and Advanced courses) who wish to practice sustainable agricultural techniques, so that they can observe, learn, experiment, and produce.<\/p>\n<p>The garden is divided into two areas:<\/p>\n<p>1) <strong>Collective production area:<\/strong> The vegetable garden is cultivated by the horticultural\u00a0group under the supervision of Nino Boi, and takes up beds A, B, C, D, E and F.<\/p>\n<p>2) <strong>Individual experimentation area:<\/strong> 15 plant beds (2.5-1.5 x 4-5 m) in the farthest terraces of the garden, each assigned to a student who cultivates them independently, under the\u00a0supervision of UNISG faculty members\/technical staff, who provide advice and help in defining objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The group philosophy is founded on the idea of proportional distribution of work and food among the participants, while at the same time engaging in a cultural activity that promotes a more sustainable lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13072 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-1024x323.jpg\" alt=\"orti ecologici\" width=\"846\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-1024x323.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-300x95.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-1536x485.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-2048x647.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-800x253.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.unisg.it\/assets\/DSC_01061-400x126.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 846px) 100vw, 846px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The vegetable garden at the Gastronomic Society has a surface area of about 500 square meters.\u00a0The Gastronomic Society\u2019s horticulture group is a community of people (many of whom are students at UNISG, especially in the Masters and Advanced courses) who wish to practice sustainable agricultural techniques, so that they can observe, learn, experiment, and produce.
