Paolo Gruppuso is an environmental anthropologist. He studied Social Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen, obtaining his PhD in 2016 with a dissertation on environmental conflicts between farming and nature conservation in two protected wetlands of Agro Pontino, Italy. In 2018 he was visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin), with a project concerning the history of wetland conservation. At the UNISG he is a research fellow working on marginal gastronomies, environmental conflicts, urban ecologies, and sustainability
