Biography

Piercarlo Grimaldi was born in Cossano Belbo in 1945 and is a UNISG professor of Cultural Anthropology.

He is a member of the jury and coordinator of the Costantino Mediterraneo Ethnoanthropology Prize, a member of the editorial committees of the Archivio Antropologico Mediterraneo journal (Sellerio editore, Palermo) and the Bollettino dell'Atlante Linguistico Italiano (Università di Torino), of the scientific committees of the Quaderni di Studi Italiani e Romeni (Università di Torino, Universitatea din Craiova) and the Cesare Pavese Foundation. Since 1993, he has been director of the “European Ethnology Documents and Research” series, with the Omega publishing company of Torino.

With the ministerial decree of Feb. 17, 1998, he was made a member of the National Commission on Demo-Ethno-Anthropological Assets.
