Antonella Campanini

Biography
Antonella Campanini is a staff researcher in medieval history at the University of Gastronomic Sciences. Studying under Vito Fumagalli, she received her undergraduate degree in Literature and Philosophy at the University of Bologna, later graduating in Archival Studies, Paleography, and Diplomacy at the State Archives of Modena. She has completed post-graduate work in Italian and European Food Studies at the University of Parma, and is a qualified post-secondary educator.
Professor Campanini previously worked in the archival field, later focusing on historical research, including that of Italian Jews and of local legislation using statutory resources, before starting to examine cost-related issues, particularly those related to food. From there, she moved on to the social history of food from the Medieval to the Early Modern period, which now constitutes her primary area of study.
